Our Fish
In summer 2021 we added 7 fish to our clean and healthy pond. Click on or hover over the images to find out their names.
Our Turtles
We are delighted to study the population of eastern box turtles that lives in our Habitat. Our turtles are many different ages and sizes. We know of at least 8 turtles living in our Habitat: Tito, Timmy, Tina, Tea, Tommy, Tucker, Teddy and Tomato.
We have noticed that they are mostly male and we only have one or two females. Males have brightly colored shells. Males have longer tails than females. Also, females have black and brown eyes. Males have red and orange eyes. |

We have been studying the behavior of the turtles living in the terrestrial ecosystem of our Habitat. Click on their pictures below for more information about each one.
A Turtle Mystery
During the 2018-19 school year, we discovered a baby turtle living in the aquatic ecosystem in our habitat. We named him Arnold. This turtle lives in the pond, has a flat green shell and an orange plastron. Experts at the Buddie Ford Nature Center tell us that Arnold is an aquatic Eastern River Cooter.
